The Legacy - global digital+physical experience ROLES The World is by far the most lucrative and exclusive of Nakheel's developments. But, the islands being sold as a blank canvas and plots costing way in excess of $1M, Nakheel needed a campaign to spark the imagination of potential buyers and make them want to come for a tour of the development. The Legacy was our answer to the challenge. At the core of our proposal was one island, a blank canvas, given to the world to be creative with. The users around the globe would be invited to express their creativity through any medium accessible to them and the tools available on the site. A panel of judges would include celebrities in the architecture and design world. The people, alongside the likes of Zaha Hadid, Philippe Stark and Rem Koolhaas would choose the finalists and a group of dedicated CG artists would bring these proposals to life for the final round. The ultimate prize - have your vision built on a real island in Dubai. The island would be launched with a party and a spectacular fireworks display and be then open to the public. As fantastical as it soulds, the project has been approved by Nakheel at a staggering budget of $9M. It was agreed that one more island would be built much closer to the shore, to make it more accessible and keep the World as exclusive as was intended.

Nakheel.com - digital rebrand ROLES Nakheel briefed us to implement the new brand accross all of their digital channels and also help bring these together under one umbrella. I've shaped the structure of the portal and came up with the overall design, creating a dynamic masthead to bring together all of Nakheel's business divisions, including Developments, Retail, Communities, Marinas, Media and give them a home. Each division has then been given its own identity, based on my observations and conversations with division directors. Bespoke photography and graphic language have been developed for each.

Blue Communities - website ROLES Won through a competitive pitch, this project has ultimately won us the client. Nakheel's intiniative, Blue Communities (blue being the green of the marine world), needed a digital activation idea and destination to promote its environmental credentials. Our proposal was to crreate a forum with a fully interactive map of the world at its core, where Nakheel, scientists, green activists, companies and general public wwould upload and discuss relevant content, thus raising the green credentials of Nakheel. |

Palm Deira - 1.2 million population development ROLES How do you market a development with population of 1.4M? What defines this city and gives it an identity and a soul? Nakheel's pitch question was exactly that - promote a city that hasn't been built yet. Our solution was this - we make the people decide what Palm Deira will be like. We invite people to share their ideas and vote for their favourites. Visually, people's suggestions will create a mosaic of the palm using submitted images. Nakheel will listen and implement the best ideas. We build an island. You make it a city. Pitch won. |
